Kerry pointed out that I missed 4 points, so here they are for the two people on Tumblr who read these redonkulous posts.
10 things desired in a woman (part 2: desires 7-10)
*Adventure and Appetite:
A gal that is passionate for travelling, learning languages, getting lost, and spontaneous road trips to Chicago in the middle of the night is one that will surely capture my heart. And a gal that loves to eat? Don’t get me started. I am a foodie and understand people and cultures through grub and enjoy variety. A passion for cooking, baking, and exploring fun unknown restaurants and cafes is a huge plus.
*Kats and Kids:
Yes, I realize that cats doesn’t start with a K, but I was trying to roll with the alliteration. I haven’t fully made up my mind about k(c)ats, so it’s a must that you (you being my gal) can bear with me through this processing and repressed memories. As for kids, I love them and hopefully you do too. Life would be pretty boring without them…
Thanks for tuning into this week’s episode of “Matt needs a date for prom…Valentine’s Day …Thursday”
Anonymous, I thought you would never ask!
In no shallow order:
*The Scent & Sight of a Woman:
A simple, warm, and inviting scent is all it takes to win me over, if I’m honest. Seriously, though. It can be as easy as a Bounce dryer sheet. As for sight, please be yourself. I could care less about the latest Bean Boot trend and rather see you rockin’ chucks with passion. And a gal with a breathtaking smile? You had me at hello. Be comfortable. Be lovely. Be yourself.
*Bindings and Beats:
A well read and music-lovin’ gal is quite appealing. Please have read things other than Mitch Alborn and Stephenie Meye. And please enjoy artists other than Taylor Swift. A gal that mouths the lyrics to No Diggity across from the Neil Gaiman party is a sure to win my heart.
*Poets and Prophets:
A gal who enjoys poetry or is simply poetic in life is quite lovely. I write a lot of crappy poetry so a woman that can tell me when it sucks and tell me when it’s great all with grace is a winner. And a gal with a heart for fulfilling God’s desire to live life to the fullest makes me quite happy.
Hope this answers your question. I’m available for office hours/coffee/dates on Thursdays…
Anonymous asked: “what are the most important qualities you seek in a future wife?”
The willingness to cut my hair. The quality of the cut doesn’t matter. It’s your attention and willingness that wins my heart.
And holding you close whilst doing so isn’t so bad either…
Thanks for asking :)

On Desiring a Woman.
You don’t have to be a model. You don’t have to be a professor. But you have to be passionate and pursuing. And I say this not about me (although I would hope you are passionate and pursuing of me), but for the world. For adventure. For learning. For creating. For caring. For love. And for Love.
That is all I seek.

Wondering what it would be like to take a stroll with you
Down an endless road with only a foot or two of clarity in front of us
And in front of our house
As we lay the last brick and thatch the last corner of the roof.
It smells of sorrows sewn into sweet love and redemption.
This is our home.
This is where we will stake our claim and fight for what we stand for.
Good coffee, late nights, warm fires, charming music, and love.
We stand for love.

On my future wife.
I was driving down Market St. from Twin Peaks in San Francisco, attempting to snap pictures of the nighttime skyline with my iPhone. It was a bizarrley clear night and warm with potential and wonder.
I managed to park at the base of the peaks to set up camp for a few more shots.
And then…
There’s always a ‘and then…’
This beach patrol officer pulled up along side of me. She had some gear in the back of her truck which belonged to me and my crew. I told her we were hoping to spend the summer sailing the Bay. She thought it a charming ambition.
But just as I rallied up the gear, she layed her back down on the now-bare bed of the truck and released the cutest sigh if I ever heard one.
Inclined for another encounter, I assured her that I didn’t usually do this, but would love to see her again.
After fumbling through my car looking for a business card, I found myself jotting my name and number onto a piece of paper which was surely to be lost by her ‘accidentally’.
Fastforward some time, and I find myself sitting with her family at dinner explaining just exactly how I was going to spend the rest of my life doding on their daughter.
We find ourselves alone for a moment and I pulled her in close; thumbs resting on the front of her hips and fingers laced around to her back. I said with the utmost sincerity, “When I saw your face, I knew I would have to tell you this….”
Then I woke up.

Breez, now this is a stoop.
Now I just have to convince a lovely gal to marry me and move to Boston so we can lounge on our stoop after work :)

Tilt-shift Paris (by IrenaS)
Dear Future Wife,
We shall someday wake in the morning, look out our window, and breathe in that baguette baked Parisian air.
Love,
Yours
