I Will Not Take My Love Away

I Will Not Take My Love Away // Matt Wertz

Please stop what you are doing and listen/soak in these words.

I will not take my love away
When praises cease and seasons change
while the whole world turns the other way
I will not take my love away
I will not leave you all alone
When striving leads you far from home
And there’s no yield for what you’ve sown
I will not leave you all alone
I will give you what you need
In plenty or in poverty
Forever, always, look to me
And I will give you what you need
I will not take my love away

The Way I Feel // Matt Wertz

So, I have a confession.

I have a secret crush on a girl I have never met, but you best believe I’m praying to have the pleasure of meeting her someday. Creepy? Nah… haha

I have been listening to this song, bouncing in my chair, thinking about her.

For a while, I didn’t even know her name. I stumbled upon her tumblr through a friend of a friend. Something about her posts…I feel like I’ve known her for a long time and could spend the rest of my life still getting to know her. It’s strange. Very seldom do I get nervous around girls and she makes me nervous just with her words. You know? That good kind of nervous, the exhilarating kind that turns your stomach upside down and yet you can’t get enough. I don’t follow her on tumblr (to avoid appearing any more creepy and so I can write posts like this haha) but check her blog frequently as if I’m running to the mailbox to check for her next letter.

That’s what it feels like. I feel like I live in the south and we are sitting on our respective porches in Athens on these warm spring nights writing letters to each other as the crickets play their violins and sing and our hearts tap the beat and swing.  The next afternoon, I race my beat-up Ford pickup down the old dirt road, peel open the old, rusty red mailbox, and peer inside for her affections.

Well, yesterday’s letter read,  ”So, the idea has recently crossed my mind- I think I would like a secret admirer.”

Oh, what is a man to do???
